Information for Parents of On-campus Students

How do I address mail or packages to my student?

When sending mail (whether it be letters or packages) to a student, please include the student’s box number to avoid delays. The proper mailing address for on-campus mail is:

Student Full Name
UR Mailbox Number
410 Westhampton Way
Richmond, VA 23173

Where is the Campus Post Office located?

The Campus Post Office is centrally located in the Heilman Dining Center. There is no mail delivery to dorms, so please do not include dorm and room numbers in your address.

Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. with window service 1:00 – 5:30p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Please inform your student of when you are mailing them items so that they are aware of it.

I'm ready to get rid of my student, how early can I begin sending mail or packages to my student for the academic year?

We ask that you refrain from shipping mail or other items to your student earlier than two weeks prior to his/her arrival on campus.

Do students keep the same box all four years?

Yes, unless the student moves off campus. If a student moves off campus, the mailbox will be assigned to another student for use.

How can I send flowers, Edible Arrangements or balloons to my student's residence hall?

Due to security restrictions, all student floral deliveries must go through Student Involvement Office in Tyler Haynes Commons. Couriers are not permitted to enter residence halls.
